Ms. Hanna is a Partner of the firm. Ms. Hanna specializes in land use, natural resources and related land use litigation. She has successfully represented clients through the public review and entitlement process for a wide range of land use projects ranging from high rise office towers, multi-family development, suburban residential, industrial centers and public and private campus developments throughout California. Ms. Hanna has successfully represented developers and property owners in trial and appellate court proceedings in state and federal court. Ms. Hanna also regularly serves as land use and environmental counsel for large-scale real estate transactions. This includes due diligence on front-end equity development deals to the acquisition of major office and industrial portfolios. Ms. Hanna also regularly works with clients in the preparation and negotiation of land use documents, including CC&Rs and Development Agreements. Prior to joining SSL, Ms. Hanna was a shareholder/director at Ellman Burke Hoffman & Johnson. Previous to Ellman Burke, she was an associate at Beveridge & Diamond. Ms. Hanna earned her law degree, cum laude, in 1999 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. During law school, she was a judicial extern to the Honorable Charles A. Legge, Judge of the United States District Court, Northern District of California. Ms. Hanna received her Bachelor of Arts degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (1995) where she competed on the intercollegiate track and field team. Ms. Hanna is a member of the Urban Land Institute, and is affiliated with the California Building Industry Association Select Conference on Industry Litigation.
