Development and Construction

Development and Construction

Our real estate practice involves the representation of developers, property owners, investors, contractors, and financial institutions in a wide variety of residential and commercial development and construction projects. Our expertise encompasses all facets of the entitlement, development, and construction process, including development agreements, subdivisions approvals, CC&R’s, disclosures and retail purchase agreements. Our development and construction practice also encompasses the negotiation and documentation of a substantial number of design and construction agreements with architects, engineering and design professionals, general contractors and construction managers, and a variety of industry trades.

SSL attorneys also have extensive experience structuring, documenting and implementing complex projects involving public/private partnerships. Such projects enable private partners to leverage public resources, while the public partner receives public benefits through the private partner’s contribution of design, construction, development and operation of the project. Our representation of developers, as well as governmental entities, in public/private projects enhances our ability to structure public/private partnership transactions that require the cooperation of parties with disparate missions and motivations to achieve a common purpose and a mutually beneficial project.
